A Night At Mall Of Asia

Hello guys! I'm here again. And its been a long time since my last post here and I'm really sorry for that. There are a lot of things that happened. Just want to share it with you guys.

Our cousins Lora and Kervy are moving to Canada. So we have decided to spend time with each other. Our plan is to spend time with them along with my brothers Carlo and Oliver and also with my other cousins Osh and Macmac.

We went to the Global Carnival last December 8, 2007. We are very lucky because we have free tickets which costs Php 300.00 each. We are really happy because its the first time that we hang out. It was really fun riding some rides their. And for your information I was not feeling well that time, I have cough and colds and I also got fever. But thank God because I was able to cope up with it. Below are some pictures of us at the Global Carnival located at the Mall Of Asia.

After going to Global Carnival we decided to eat at Jollibee. Hehehe. Me and my cousin Osh was the one who paid the bills. Because we are the only ones who have a job. We have talk about our childhood, talk about our parents, talk about the future.

I think it was around 2:00 when we went out of Jollibee. We have decided not to go home. And decided to stay at Mall Of Asia. Its really fun because it was my second time to go there but I think it wasn't because I wasn't able to go inside. While we were walking around Mall Of Asia we have taken pictures of ourselves. We have 2 digicams with us.

We have spend our night at Mall Of Asia. We went home at around 7:00 AM! I will never forget this because we've gotten the chance to own Mall Of Asia! Hahahaha!

Double Shift

Yesterday and today was really tiring! Yesterday I slept at about 4:00AM and then I woke up at 10:00AM to write down my training notes on my notebook. I have prepared myself for work at around 11:00AM. My shift would be at 2:00PM to 11:00PM. And we should be logged on 15 minuets before 2:00PM I was aware of what had happened in Makati. I heard about Trillanes.

I have left our house at around 12:15PM. I'm from Libertad, Pasay City and I have to ride the MRT from Taft Station (the very first station) to Araneta Station to go to Eastwood City Libis. I was shocked to see a lot of people in MRT. The lines are too long and I have to wait until I get my turn. I have been stranded at Taft Station for about 20 minutes. I'm in the traine for 30 minutes so I arrived at Araneta Station at around 1:15 and then I have to walk from Araneta Center up to PureGold where the Rosario jeepneys are waiting for passengers. The traffic is really high that time. I know that I will be late and I think that I will be on our office at exactly 2:00PM or 10 minutes before. So I waited and waited thinking that I will be avail to arrive at the office 15 minutes late. I'm not looking at my cellphones clock because its really advance so I was happy to enter IBM Plaza. But was shocked because of 1 elevator is not working. So I have to fall inline again and wait for the elevator to come down. I'm at ease that time that I will come at around 2:00PM to 2:15PM but when I saw the clock on our floor! It's quarter to 3:00PM! I was late for an hour! Huhuhu.

I was the last to arrived in our batch. Some of them are late but not that late like me. I was really rushing because I have to setup my computer and get ready for mock calls. But I didn't get any mock call yesterday. Instead we have been deployed to the floor for entertaining live calls from the US. Because a lot of engineers will not make it to the 9:00PM shift because of the curfew hours imposted by Pres. Gloria Arroyo.

We were suppose to have our live calls from 9:00PM to 11:00PM but when the curfew has been imposted, our managers let us choose if we can go home or we can stay. I will not be able to go home because it was really traffic and its already 8:30 that time. So I decided to stay and do live calls. We were lucky because it will be a double shift so I don't have to go to work this afternoon. We were treated ok on Trend Micro because we have free meals and they let us take a nap for 2 hours on a really cold conference room. We were back in the floor at around 5:00AM to take the APAC (Asia Pacific) calls.

This is our firs time to take live calls and we were very nervous yet excited. I have 3calls for US clients and 2 calls for APAC clients. I'm really lucky to have nice callers. One thing I don't like is taking calls from APAC (1 Australian and 1 from New Zealand) because its really hard to understand their accent regarding spelling out letters. But I have overcome my fear and face each calls even though I'm not feeling well because I have a cold and cough. Its really nine to hear people thanking you for helping them. But I hope I gave the right solutions for their problems. Hehehe. I'm still a newbie and I need a to learn a lot. Hope I can make it to the top!

This Past Few Days

Hello! I'm here again. Just want to tell you all what had happened to me this past few days. I was really tired this past few days its because of the training. Last Monday was the last day of our Soft Skills training. It is intended for the assessment of each one of us. So I was really nervous that time. We have taken a written exam and then after that we undergo a defense about our essay. Our schedule that time was 09:00PM to 06:00AM. And we will be informed of the result on the next day which is Tuesday. And we have an schedule of 3:00PM to 12:00AM. So we have no sleep. I have slept for about 2 hours. I was really tired and nervous of the result.

Manuals And Notebook

My Trend Micro Name Tag

The result was given to us before we go home. And I'm happy to say that I've passed! Hehehe. But I'm really sorry for the my other co-trainees who didn't make it. I was wishing that all of us will pass the training but they got eliminated. I hope that they will find a new job as soon as possible. Right now we are in the Product Training and I will do my best not to be eliminated. So please pray for me!

First Night

It was my first time to work at a night shift. I was prepared for it because I already take a lot of sleep in the morning before going to my work. This will be the first day of our training and I'm really nervous about it. What if I don't pass? The first 5 days of the training will focused on the Soft Skills (communication and listening skills). I think my performance (speaking in English) was ok in some of the recitations today. I have learned a lot about effective communication and also in believing in one self. Our trainer Sir Bryan always reminds us that we have to believe in ourselves in order for us to passed the training. Right now I'm really doing my best but I'm also nervous about what might happened next Monday (judgment day). We have to pass this first course in order for us to continue to the second course.

It was really cold in the room. Good thing that I brought my jacket but still its really cold in the conference room. I have taken my lunch at McDonalds. One good thing here is that the drinks (coffee, soft drinks, Milo, iced tea) at Trend Micro are free! I tried not to get sleepy throughout the day. As I went back home that's when I already feel sleepy. Right now I'm really really worried that I don't pass the training. I don't want to disappoint my parents and I don't want to be bum again. We have no holidays by the way. So we will be having work on November 1 and 2. Really tiring isn't it?

Official Trender

Today was my first day of work at Trend Micro Inc. Philippines located at Eastwood Libis, Quezon City as a Technical Support Engineer. It was really tiring because today was a holiday (Barangay Elections) and we have to attend the orientation. I woke up at around 6:00AM because I have to vote for the Barangay Elections because my father is running for a Kagawad position. It was around 8:30AM when I arrived at the IBM Plaza where Trend Micro Inc. is located. I was really happy when the HR officer welcome us and said that we are now an official Trender. The orientation went well. We have learned a lot regarding the company's profile, company policies and also the benefits that will be given to us. It was really cold in the conference room. I think I should bring a sweater/jacket. We were allowed to go home early after we have passed our requirements. Tomorrow is the start of a new adventure! It's because I will be going to Trend at night (10:00PM). It is my first time to work at night. I really do hope I can make it.

Good Or Bad

Hello. It was a tiring day today. Last Monday I decided to reapply at Trend Micro for a Technical Support Engineer position. And they have called me yesterday, inviting me for an exam. I have accepted it because its a one day process and theres no harm in trying. So I went to their office at Libis, Quezon City this morning. Fortunately I have passed the IQ test together with the Technical exam and also the Phone Simulation. I was endorsed for the final interview this afternoon.

Only 4 have survived the screening process. And one of them is me. Of course I was nervous that time, to think that it will be a panel interview. The first person (male) is interviewed by 2 people (1 boy and 1 girl). He is already working as a Technical Support Representative. The second one (female) was interviewed by 2 people (1 boy and 1 girl). And the third one (female) was interviewed by 3 people (2 boys and 1 girl). Yes I was the last one to be interviewed. And guess what there's another addition to the group of interviewer. So all in all there are 4 persons in front of me (3 boys and 1 girl)!

At first I'm alright in answering the questions. But then there came a time that I wasn't able to express what I wanted to answer. That's when I have accepted that I will not pass the interview. My performance was really really poor. I'm really nervous and I'm really ashamed to them. I think that they're laughing at me. Because of my answer. Here are some answers that I said to them. I said that I like Anime and Koreanovelas (they laughed at it). Another is that I'm desperate to have a work. I also encountered wrong grammars. I left the room with shame on myself. I feel like I'm really down in front of them. So that's what happened this afternoon.

After that we were asked to wait for the result. I expected that I will fail in the final interview. The 2 of us where called first. And then after a minute me and the other girl has been called. I was really surprised about the result! They're giving me a job offer! How? Why? I really don't know why they'd chose me instead of the other guy which is really deserving because he has experience. I was really shock that time. The job offer was supposed to be after the result was given but the head was not around so it has been moved tomorrow at 10:00AM.

Right now I still can't believe why did they chose me. I am planning to accept the job offer tomorrow. But I'm really afraid that they might expect something from me. I really admit that I'm not that good in English. I have asked my cousin (a Psychology graduate) about the decision that has been made by those team leaders who interviewed me. She said that sometimes it happens. She thinks that they like my personality. Showing my true self in front of them.

I must say that I'm the kind of person that always think that I cannot accomplish or do something. Like right now. I'm afraid that I might disappoint them. I think that I will not be able to pass the training or be a good Technical Support Engineer. That's one of my weakness. Lack of self confidence. Finally I have a job but do I deserve this? I really hope so. I'll just try my best. God has given me this opportunity and I think its his plan. Thank God.

Mission Envelope

Yesterday my brother gave my mother two brown envelopes. And I remember having those when I was in grade school and in high school. Money is placed on the mission envelopes and it will be submitted to the class adviser. I studied in a Catholic private school named St. Mary's Academy Pasay City and its a tradition that every month of October, aside from the Rosary month will be a Mission month. It means that we have to solicit some money for those missionaries who are helping other people around the world. Its a requirement and we have to submit it.

Mission Envelopes

I remember in my school days, we are given these Mission envelopes everyday. And sometimes contests about this are being held in our classroom. Hehehe. Our classroom is divided into 2 groups and we have to contribute money for our group. The group with the most money wins. All proceeds are for the missionaries.

Accomplishment

Aside from my birthday. I also celebrate another thing that has happened to me. Last year October 15, 2006 after my birthday I made a promised that I would go to church every Sunday to attend mass. Because I've realized that I have missed a lot of days (Sundays) of not attending mass.

Get free graphics at BlingyBlob.com!

I really believe that going to mass is a part of every Christians life. I think each and everyone of us should spend time with God. It's only one day and only one hour to be with Him and yet we managed to ignore an opportunity to reflect, thank Him and repent our sins.

Today's mass is an accomplishment for me. I'm really happy that today would be my 1 year in attending mass every Sunday without absences. And I wish that I could continue it for the rest of my life!

I'm Tired

I just came back from my panel interview this afternoon at dB Wizards located at the 28 floor Corporate Center Sedeño corner Valero Streets Salcedo Village in Makati City. I have applied (walk in)here as a Developer Trainee last Friday September 28, 2007 with my friends and I've had my initial interview on that day. I've received a text message about the schedule of panel interview and that is today at 1:30PM in the afternoon.

I was really nervous the day before because I thought that yesterday was Wednesday and I just realized that that yesterday was Thursday when I have seen Magpakailanman in GMA7. I was shocked because I was'nt prepared for it. I'm also thinking of not attending the panel interview because I think I will not pass it and waste my time and money going there. But I have to try my luck. So I went there this afternoon. Bahala na si Batman! Hehehe.

I was told already about what the panel interview's gonna be when I had my initial interview. We were 5 applicants to undergo the panel interview and I was the last person who came but I'm not late! So the interview started in a conference room. Again we were 5 applicants and there are 4 panelists. The panelists consists of the HR manager and some directors of the company. I'm really nervous at that time but as time goes by I became comfortable talking and answering the questions of the panelists. I admit that I had few errors in speaking in English but I think that the interview is ok. Most of the questions about ourselves, our educational background and other things about us. They had offered us drinks and cookies to eat while the interview is going on. They are really accommodating and they made us comfortable. Thank God that its not a technical interview. The only problem there is that its really cold in their office.

We have finished the interview at 4:30, I think and they let us wait for the reception area for the results because they will do the deliberation. I was the first one who is being called by one of the HR and she told me that the panel interview went well according to the bosses. She told me that I was on the waiting list and I have to wait until next week until the last batch of panel interview is done. There are only 5 slots left in the Developer Trainee position. I hope I passed this one. I really need a job. I have a pending application with Trend Micro as a Technical Support. I think I will accept the which job offer will come first. It will be between Trend Micro and dB Wizards.

dB Wizards is a company that is affiliated with Microsoft Corporation. They offer training and also Microsoft Certification exams. I think its great to work there. For more information regarding this company visit their website. That's all for now. I'm really tired.

Is Too Much Water Dangerous

I will never forget what happened to me last night. Yesterday I got sick. I don't want to be sick because I have to apply for a job this morning together with my college classmates. I'm really afraid of what happened last night.

I have known that to much water intake will give you a healthier life. Some says that drinking a lot of water will lessen your sickness and that's what I did. Stupid me! I really wanted to go this morning and I want to get well. I thought that drinking too much water will refreshen and cleanse my body but it didn't. I really don't know why did I do it. While watching Marimar I started to drink a glass of water every 15 minutes until the end of Jumong because I thought that it will help me to get well. I also take paracetamol. And then after Jumong my sickness is gone but my head hurts. I've got headache. It really hurts and hurts even more when I lay down and tried to sleep. I try to take Advil but it has no effect. All I want is to sleep so that it will be gone but I can't sleep. I feel like I'm going to vomit because I feel that theres air in my stomach that wants to go out. So I try to vomit and after vomitting some water that I have drunk my headache disappear. I've put Katinko on my chest, stomach and back so that I will be more comfortable while sleeping.

I wanted to know what happened to me last night so I have searched the internet and found this news on the BBC News website. It says...

A Californian woman has died after taking part in a water-drinking contest, but why is too much water dangerous?

We are regularly advised to drink more water: it clears skin, reduces tiredness and aids concentration.

But the death of a woman in the US after taking part in a water-drinking contest shows you can have too much of a good thing.

Jennifer Strange had taken part in the "Hold Your Wee for a Wii" game, which promised the winner a Nintendo Wii. Afterwards she reportedly said her head was hurting and went home, where she was later found dead. Initial tests have shown her death is consistent with water intoxication.

Drinking too much water can eventually cause your brain to swell, stopping it regulating vital functions such as breathing, and causing death. So what happens?

Water enters the body when we drink and is removed primarily in the urine and sweat. The amount of water in the body is regulated to control the levels of certain compounds, such as salt, in the blood.

If you drink too much water, eventually the kidneys will not be able to work fast enough to remove sufficient amounts from the body, so the blood becomes more dilute with low salt concentrations.

"If you drink too much water it lowers the concentration of salt in your blood so that it is lower than the concentration of salt in cells," says Professor Robert Forrest, a consultant in clinical chemistry and forensic toxicology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield.

The water then moves from the dilute blood to the cells and organs where there is less water. Professor Forrest likens this to the effects seen in science-class experiments.

Anthony Andrews
Actor Anthony Andrews was treated for water intoxication in 2003
"If you put salty water on onion skin the cells will shrink, if you put too much water on it the cells will swell," he says.

This swelling is a problem in the brain.

"When the brain swells, it is inside a bony box so has nowhere to go," he says. "The pressure increases in the skull and you may get a headache. As the brain is squeezed it compresses vital regions regulating functions such as breathing."

Eventually these functions will be impaired and you are likely to stop breathing and die. Warning signs included confusion and headaches...

For the complete article go here. Whew! I really thank God that that didn't happened to me. I'm really nervous at that time a lot of things came into my mind like what if I have cancer or other serious diseases. One of my fear is being confined in a hospital. I really don't like injections. Hahaha. Right now I'm afraid to drink a glass of water. Hehehe. I just drink a small glass of water to be sure that it will not happen again. Another weapon of mine is prayer.

Job Hunting

Its been 8 months since my last job was but I still don't have a job right now. I have already applied for some companies from Makati and Libis but then I wasn't able to pass the screenings and stuff. Its really hard to find a job right now. Even if you already have a working experience, its not enough for you to be hired easily.

I'm really sad right now because I don't have a job until now. I think I'm loosing my self confidence. I think that everyones moving forward and I'm being left behind. I don't know why is this happening. I have passed some preemployment exams and I think that my interviews are ok. I have good grades when I was in college (no failing grade). But then its not enough for me to be hired by a company.

I am thinking of changing my field of work. I am happy with computer programming but I am happier in the field of web designing. I really enjoyed it a lot. Look at this site. Its my work. Hehe. I really don't know what to do now. I guess its my fate. But I really wish to have a job before Christmas or as soon as possible.
