Double Shift

Yesterday and today was really tiring! Yesterday I slept at about 4:00AM and then I woke up at 10:00AM to write down my training notes on my notebook. I have prepared myself for work at around 11:00AM. My shift would be at 2:00PM to 11:00PM. And we should be logged on 15 minuets before 2:00PM I was aware of what had happened in Makati. I heard about Trillanes.

I have left our house at around 12:15PM. I'm from Libertad, Pasay City and I have to ride the MRT from Taft Station (the very first station) to Araneta Station to go to Eastwood City Libis. I was shocked to see a lot of people in MRT. The lines are too long and I have to wait until I get my turn. I have been stranded at Taft Station for about 20 minutes. I'm in the traine for 30 minutes so I arrived at Araneta Station at around 1:15 and then I have to walk from Araneta Center up to PureGold where the Rosario jeepneys are waiting for passengers. The traffic is really high that time. I know that I will be late and I think that I will be on our office at exactly 2:00PM or 10 minutes before. So I waited and waited thinking that I will be avail to arrive at the office 15 minutes late. I'm not looking at my cellphones clock because its really advance so I was happy to enter IBM Plaza. But was shocked because of 1 elevator is not working. So I have to fall inline again and wait for the elevator to come down. I'm at ease that time that I will come at around 2:00PM to 2:15PM but when I saw the clock on our floor! It's quarter to 3:00PM! I was late for an hour! Huhuhu.

I was the last to arrived in our batch. Some of them are late but not that late like me. I was really rushing because I have to setup my computer and get ready for mock calls. But I didn't get any mock call yesterday. Instead we have been deployed to the floor for entertaining live calls from the US. Because a lot of engineers will not make it to the 9:00PM shift because of the curfew hours imposted by Pres. Gloria Arroyo.

We were suppose to have our live calls from 9:00PM to 11:00PM but when the curfew has been imposted, our managers let us choose if we can go home or we can stay. I will not be able to go home because it was really traffic and its already 8:30 that time. So I decided to stay and do live calls. We were lucky because it will be a double shift so I don't have to go to work this afternoon. We were treated ok on Trend Micro because we have free meals and they let us take a nap for 2 hours on a really cold conference room. We were back in the floor at around 5:00AM to take the APAC (Asia Pacific) calls.

This is our firs time to take live calls and we were very nervous yet excited. I have 3calls for US clients and 2 calls for APAC clients. I'm really lucky to have nice callers. One thing I don't like is taking calls from APAC (1 Australian and 1 from New Zealand) because its really hard to understand their accent regarding spelling out letters. But I have overcome my fear and face each calls even though I'm not feeling well because I have a cold and cough. Its really nine to hear people thanking you for helping them. But I hope I gave the right solutions for their problems. Hehehe. I'm still a newbie and I need a to learn a lot. Hope I can make it to the top!
